We came to Vestara after spending three months trying to work out what documents our late father's estate actually needed. The consultation gave us a printed list we could actually follow — every office, every charge, every step. It felt like someone had finally switched the lights on.

The retrieval service was well organised. We had six different document requests running at the same time — banks, the land office, NRD — and the fortnightly updates meant we always knew exactly where each one stood. The waiting period for the land office responses was longer than I had hoped, but that was the office's timeline, not Vestara's, and they had flagged it at the start.

Our family had five siblings involved in the estate and everyone was asking different questions. The Full Estate Ledger Programme solved that — everyone received the same fortnightly update, and the monthly meetings meant there was one consistent account of what had happened. It kept the family on the same page throughout.

I appreciated that they were straightforward about what they don't do. When it came to the High Court application, they marked it clearly in the ledger as something a law firm needed to handle and gave us a note on which type of firm to look for. That kind of honesty made me trust the rest of the work more.

The indexed folder they maintained for us was genuinely useful. When we eventually engaged a solicitor for the distribution stage, having everything in one organised archive saved a lot of time. The correspondence Vestara had drafted was clear and the solicitor said everything was in order.

We live in different states and managing our mother's estate paperwork remotely felt unworkable until we found Vestara. They handled all the correspondence for our signatures and kept us updated by email. The closing walkthrough at the end of the programme was a detail I hadn't expected but found very helpful.

Case Studies

Three administrative engagements, described in the same format as the ledger itself: situation, scope and outcome.

Estate with Multiple Bank Accounts and a Landed Property

10 weeks · Retrieval Service
Situation

A family in Petaling Jaya had four bank accounts, one unit trust holding and a semi-detached property to track across an estate. They had no clear list of what was needed or who to contact.

Scope Handled

Vestara prepared a 19-row ledger covering NRD certifications, four separate bank notification letters, unit trust correspondence and the land office preliminary enquiry. Correspondence was drafted in full for family signature at each stage.

Outcome

All 19 ledger rows were settled or referred within the ten-week scope. The closing ledger and indexed folder were handed to the family's appointed solicitor directly, with all correspondence on file.

Small Estate with Overseas Relative

Consultation + Retrieval
Situation

The administrator of a small estate under RM 2 million had one sibling based in Australia who needed to sign documents but could not travel. Translation and attestation of several forms were required before Amanah Raya Berhad would process the application.

Scope Handled

The ledger included rows for Bahasa Malaysia–English translation, notarisation requirements for the overseas signatory and the attestation coordination with Amanah Raya Berhad. All correspondence was drafted in both languages as needed.

Outcome

Attestation was completed via the Australian High Commission and all documents were received by Amanah Raya Berhad within the scope period. The family described the translation coordination as the most useful part of the engagement.

Complex Multi-Asset Estate, Seven-Month Programme

9 months · Full Programme
Situation

An estate involving two properties in different states, four financial institutions, a private company shareholding and six beneficiaries across three families. A probate application was under way but the administrative tracking alongside it was disorganised.

Scope Handled

A master ledger with 34 rows was maintained across nine months. Monthly reconciliation meetings were held with minutes circulated to all six beneficiaries. The ledger ran in parallel with the solicitors' probate work, tracking administrative rows not covered under their retainer.

Outcome

The bound master ledger at programme close covered all 34 rows, with 31 settled and 3 documented as outstanding pending probate completion. The solicitors confirmed the ledger provided a useful supplement to their own case file.
